Mango Church has had another face lift. We received a designated gift for continued construction to try and complete the church. After discussion with Pastor Grace and church elders, it was decided that the funds would be spilt into two projects.

Our ten scholarship kids are doing well in their studies. We have added an additional primary student to our group – making our total three in primary and seven in secondary school. More than half of our scholarship kids received new backpacks and school supplies this year thanks to the Brady families.

NW Ohio Synod has assembled book bags for PEN Trust for the past few years. The bags contain essential school supplies. We have also added books, toothbrushes and stuffed animals to these school bags.

After five months, the container from Books For Africa arrived at our warehouse in Dodoma. This container was donated to PEN Trust through BFA and the George Seymour Bissel Foundation.

After eight months, the long awaited 40 foot container from Feed My Starving Children arrived. As Thanksgiving is celebrated in the US, we are thankful for the thousands of nourishing fortified rice meals for the needy of Tanzania.

In July, PEN Trust hosted ten guests from Books For Africa and Better World Books, based in Atlanta, GA. Better World Books is an online book seller and is the major financial contributor to BFA. The Executive Director, David Murphy and family along with several regional directors and warehouse managers came to see the process of book distribution. BFA selected PEN Trust to be the model non profit for their site visit. We are thankful for the continued support from BFA.

PEN Trust had the opportunity to visit the Feed My Starving Children headquarters in Brooklyn Park, MN while in the US. After presenting the Board of Directors with a gift, we gave an update of food distributions throughout the Dodoma and Singida regions as well as highlighted further needs. FMSC with shipping help from Operation Blessing have generously donated a 40 foot container that will be arriving the first week of August 2006.
