23,000 Books to Singida
PEN Trust in conjunction with the regional government of Singida recently distributed over 23,000 books. The consignment consisted of 10 secondary schools, 14 primary schools and one regional library, many having multiple consignments. The handover to the individual schools occurred while visiting the region with guests from Books For Africa.
The Regional Commissioner of Singida, Honorable Parseko V. Kone, with assistance from the Regional Librarian and Regional Education Officer, facilitated transport of the 23,000 books from the PEN Trust warehouse in Dodoma.
One of the deepest needs of PEN Trust is a 5 – ton truck to enable us to do our own distributions and get books into the hands of children more rapidly.
