R. Donald Hawkinson, Attorney of Law, practicing in Minneapolis was instrumental in the formation of PEN of TZ. He was able to accommodate us into his busy schedule and help us understand the intricacies of the IRS paperwork and forms. He welcomed us to his home and will soon be coming to visit us here in Tanzania. Karibu sana!
PEN Trust is a Tanzanian based non profit that was established in 2004. In order to expand our possibilities for financial and in kind donations, it was necessary to form a sister NGO in the US where donors could then take advantage of the 501 c 3 tax deductions. Our federal application is still pending.
